Highland Hopping is a secluded hike near Karjat, tucked between the Matheran mountains with the Morbe dam on one side and the Garbett plateau running parallel — a winding trail through lush meadows and some of the prettiest views of the season. Of Fields & Forests heads the other way, into the tropical forests of Palghar: old temples, forts of lore, and the confluence of the Vaitarna and Pinjal rivers, a short hop beyond the western suburbs.
