Mumbai's Mangrove Story invites you to step into this lesser-known natural landscape and understand why mangroves are an important part of our coastal environment.
The experience begins at the Coastal & Marine Biodiversity Centre, Airoli, where participants are introduced to the centre and the expert leading the programme.
You will learn about the mangrove ecosystem, the intertidal environment, mangrove vegetation and the adaptations that allow these plants to thrive in saline or brackish conditions.
The learning then moves outdoors.
The Guided Mangrove Nature Trail
Walk through the mangrove environment with an expert and observe the ecosystem around you. The trail focuses on:
🌿 Mangrove plants and their characteristics
🌊 The intertidal and mudflat environment
🐦 Birds and other biodiversity that may be observed
🌱 The relationship between mangroves and coastal biodiversity
💬 Interaction and questions with the expert

- The experience is scheduled for Tuesday, 20 October 2026. - The programme is planned at the Coastal & Marine Biodiversity Centre, Airoli. - The planned programme duration is approximately 2 hours, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Reporting time is 8:45am. - Participants are required to report at the designated location before commencement of the programme. - Transportation is not included. Participants are required to make their own arrangements to reach and leave the Coastal & Marine Biodiversity Centre, Airoli. - Minimum group size: 10 participants. - Maximum group size: 30 participants. - The experience includes an expert-led introduction/talk on mangroves and a guided nature trail. - Dry snacks and one 500 ml water bottle per participant are included. - Camera and parking charges, where applicable, are to be borne by participants, as specified in the source concept note. - The nature trail involves walking on an outdoor trail. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and suitable footwear. - Participants are advised to carry personal medicines, if required. - Participants should follow the instructions of the expert, venue authorities and Samsona Getaways representative at all times. - Participants should not disturb, touch, feed or remove plants, animals or any other natural material encountered during the experience. - Participants are expected to maintain cleanliness and dispose of waste responsibly. - The programme may be modified depending on weather, rainfall, tide conditions, site conditions or other circumstances on the event day.
